Did you know there’s a motorcycle museum in Newburgh? Neither did I until recently…it’s called the Motorcyclepedia Museum and includes a collection of 600 motorcycles spanning from the early 20th century to current designs. It’s kid friendly and a perfect place to go when you’ve tired of Dia Beacon or when you have friends in town who are looking for something unexpected to do.
I’m not a passionate motorcycle fan or anything but I did appreciate seeing this amazing collection of trick motorcycles and working ones, including British models, Harleys, and Indian Motorcycles that were in production from 1901-1953.
It’s an especially fun museum to visit if you’re eagerly anticipating the upcoming season of Long Way Round (this season is called Long Way Home) detailing the real motorcycle adventures of Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman.
Check out the trailer and the new series coming to Apple+ on May 9th. If you haven’t seen the other seasons, I highly recommend them. It just might make you want to travel the world on a motorcycle.
Afterwards, get a coffee and sandwich at Downstate Newburgh or some ramen at District Ramen.

Who knew all this about Newburgh? My sister-in-law lived there a few years ago and I wish I knew about the motorcycle museum & Lucille ball then! 😀
